A first half Craig Hobson hat-trick was too much for Whitby Town to claw back and Kendal Town went on to record back to back victories. Kendal Town went in front after just 3 minutes as Alex Taylor forced a mistake from the Whitby 'keeper Ben Escritt and Hobson was on hand to fire home. Just one minute later Hobson doubled Kendal Town's lead with a neat finish, so it was Kendal Town 2-0 up after just 4 minutes. Shortly after, Alex Taylor shot wide. Whitby's Karl Charlton brought a good save from Kendal 'keeper David Newnes. Hobson was brought down in the area, but the referee dismissed the penalty claim. Newnes then foiled another Whitby attack. Great set up play from Hobson let in Lee Mulvaney, but the winger fired over the bar. Hobson shot just wide as Kendal maintained the pressure on the Whitby goal. Taylor then had a goal disallowed for a marginal offside decision. Whitby grabbed a goal back, against the run of play, as Tom Raw scored from distance on 31 minutes. Kilford shot wide from a good goalscoring position before another excellent save from Newnes denied Whitby's Andy Burton. Right on half time the excellent Hobson grabbed his hat-trick with another great strike on 45 minutes. The second half was a real slog as Whitby came more and more into the game. Whitby's Mark Tinkler should have scored for the home side. Whitby substitute Sam Garvie was looking dangerous on their right side. It was indeed Garvie that provided the cross for Lee Nogan to make it 2-3 on 61 minutes. Garvie then had a shot himself that went just wide. Another chance fell to the home side as Alex Janes fired wide after a goalmouth scramble. Michael Cole nearly relieved the pressure late on, but he shot over the bar. An injury time save by David Newnes from Whitby's Tom Raw was the last action of the game and meant Kendal Town had secured all three points. It wasn't pretty stuff in the second half, but it proved to be enough for a hard fought victory.
