Kendal Wattsfield make it 3 from 3 after a convincing 7-1 home league win over Crown Newlaithes.

After a couple of inactive weeks, KW were slow to get going, with neither goal being threatened in the opening 20 minutes of the match.

However despite the frustrating start, KW got into their stride, and opened the scoring on 25 minutes when Joanne Thompson followed up a Faye Armstrong shot to finish from close range.

Once Joanne opened the scoring the goals started to come as Michelle Raven made it 2 after her cross crept in at the back post. Hannah Crosdale then made it 3 a few minutes later sweeping in a cross from the right past the keeper, With Lauren Downham giving KW a commanding 4-0 half time lead capitalizing on Crown Newlaithes failure to clear a corner.

With a 4-0 lead several changes were made at half time and that seemed to upset KW’s rhythm in the 2nd half and despite Crown Newlaithes creating several scoring opportunities they never tested stand in goalkeeper Nikita Morton.

KW did miss a penalty after the Crown Newlaithes hand balled in the box, however despite the miss 4 became 5 when Faye Armstrong latched onto a through ball, placing her shot calmly past the keeper.

The visitors did keep going and pulled one back when Tasha Scott finished from close range, but KW finished stronger grabbing 2 goals in the last few minutes of the match through Grania Shankley who’s powerful shot went past the keeper, with Brooke Kenny sealing a good win, directing her shot into the goal on 89 minutes.
